TITLE: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rendering of Non-Photorealistic Three-Dimensional Scenes Exploiting the Graphics Hardware. ABSTRACT: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cartoon rendering is a non-photorealistic rendering technique used to generate images similar to hand made drawings from the rendering of three-dimensional models. Cartoon looking images usually share some features, such as: flat shading, fixed number of tons and silhouette. In this paper, we present two algorithms for real-time cartoon rendering exploiting the programmable graphics hardware, which were implemented using the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL).
